The Bridal Shop at the Avenues

This was the place I found my wedding dress and many others that I loved. Nearly everyday I went this place had many customers, but they were still able to take the time to help me and there were plenty of dressing rooms.

My sister (who got married in 2008) got her wedding dress from this shop and had a wonderful experience so it was the first place I went when I started looking at dresses. In my opinion, they had the best selection of bridal gowns in Jacksonville (of boutique bridal shops at least). Overall I had a great experience there and absolutely love(d) my dress!The only frustration I had was that they originally told me my dress would be in at the end of July and to call at the beginning of July to make sure it was still on time. So I called the second week of July and left a message. A couple days later someone called me back and told me they had called and checked on the dress and it would still be here in late July. So, August rolls around and still no dress so I call back. I leave another message but this time no one calls me back. I call again and they tell me they will check and get back to me. A week passes and still no phone call back. I finally got my mom to call and the girl tells her that the dress was never set to come in July, it was always supposed to be here at the end of August. When my mom told her I had called in July and they said they had "checked" on it and it would still be in at the end of July, they lady responded that no one had ever called to check on the dress.The dress did end up arriving by the end of August, which was still plenty of time before my November wedding, it was just frustrating that they contradicted themselves so many times.

I had an amazing shopping experience at The Bridal Shop. The service was great. I told them what I was looking for and what my price range was and they found the perfect dress for me. They were very helpful since I had to get the dress back to Germany. The value was great, too! All of the staff was very helpful and patient with me.

My dress was about a month later getting in than I expected, but they communicated with me on that so I was prepared. I couldn't have found a more perfect dress and when I came in for my initial appointment, I felt like the only bride that mattered (or that was there). That was so important to me. I was pleased :)

I had a great experience at The Bridal Shop. Debbie was my consultant and she was wonderful. I would highly recommend this store, I bought my dress there.

I had a great experience with the Bridal Shop at the Avenues. Suzanne assisted me with choosing a wedding gown. I had recently researched some gowns and had some ideas in mind. But she quickly informed me that I should try on all types of dresses because you will be amazed how different styles compliment the look I would want on my big day. She was very nice, pleasant, and patient. The last gown I tried on after at least 10, was "the one." It was a part of the Enzoani Collection. If I wanted the dress, I had to act fast because it was a part of the trunk show which was only for that weekend. I was a little hesistant because I still had 11 months until the wedding and was thinking about looking around more. But after looking at the dress, I decided I was not going to look any further. My dress was ordered and shipped to the Bridal Shop earlier then expected. I was very excited when I tried my dress on.... It fit perfect and looked beautiful! It was unique and I didn't have to worry about to many other brides with the same dress, since it was a part of the trunk collection. The only thing I need was a bustle and Mrs. Shump was referred to me. She did a great job also!

I loved my dress, and I found it at the suggestion of one of the ladies at the store - so for that I am thankful. However, one of my bridesmaids had a terrible experience here. They measured her, and did not suggest a tall length. When the dress came in, and was found to be too short, they ordered a new skirt piece for her in the wrong fabric & color! It took many weeks to get this corrected, and thankfully my bridesmaid was able to find a good seamstress who could fix her dress in a short period of time.

We purchased my daughters dress in this store because this was one of the few places that carried the line that she was interested in. Debbie was very helpful. She had a lot of patience trying and retrying on dresses to make our final decison. The dress came in sooner than we were told which was a plus! The seamstress they recommended (Martha Schump) was the rudest person I delt with through the whole wedding process. We drove 3 hours one way to pick up the dress and take it to her for alterations. Unfortunatly we got lost going to her place and called her when we were 5 minutes late to let her know and get help finding her place and she blasted my daughter on the phone saying that we would need to reschedule because we would be to late and she would closing after our appointment. We told her we felt like we were very close so she said to come on in. When we got there she started in again on how inconsiderated we were to be late and the bridal shop sold us a dress that was not right for my daughters shape. She had her in tears so we took off the dress and left the place. Martha took a special moment for a bride and turned it into a horrible experience. I don't care how good a seamstress she may be, NO ONE should have to be subjected to that kind of rudeness. She needs a class on good people skills. Good luck if you catch her on a bad day cause you will pay!

I went into the bridal shop while looking for a wedding dress. I had been to 2 other shops and wasn't really seeing anything I cared for. I wasn't searching for the intention of buying, I really just wanted an idea. The other shops were nice and the associates were also nice but not very helpful. Then I came to The Bridal Shop at the Avenues. Jen was the associate who helped me and she picked SO many dresses for me it was amazing. She pulled things off of the racks that I would not have thought twice about and they looked stunning on. I picked a dress that day and put down my deposit. They were so flexible with the payment options it made it a very easy decision. I also went through The Bridal Shop for my shoes, veil and bridesmaid dresses. They were so helpful and all of the deliveries gave us ample time for any alterations that needed to be made. They referred me to a wonderful seamstress (C Pratt) and also assisted with last minute steaming of my dress. They were wonderful to work with and have THE largest selection of bridal gowns. I would definitely recommend this shop, but go with an appointment so you can get the individual assistance that you want and deserve! Thanks team you were great!

I found my dress here! I had a broken leg when trying on dresses and they were so helpful. I highly recommend shopping here!

I hated the fact that I had to rate this shop a little lower than most of my vendors but I did have some issues with my dress. There was a miscommunication on who I should have went to for alterations after my dress did not fit properly. There was an internal argument at the shop over the miscommunication. This was 3 weeks before my wedding so I was already on edge and the extra stress did not help. I loved their selection and Jennifer was very helpful in helping me choose a dress.

The dress that came in from the dress company (allure) was made differently than the sample that I had ordered-I was devastated! Debra ordered another dress from the company and that one looked the same too, so she ordered a third dress and let my seamstress take the hem of the lace off the dress and use it to complete my dress to look like the sample that I had fallen in love with. I was not charged for this service either. It was the right thing to do on her part and I really appreciated it-very good service in the end!

I LOVE Bridal Shop at the Avenues, I first worked with them when picking out my Maid of Honor dress for my best friends wedding. They were wonderful, easy to work with and let you look without being pushy. Then it came time for me to get married, I went to David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo, but walked out of both places, because I was frustrated with how pushy and overbearing all the sales girls were (they are still calling me and my wedding is already over!) At bridal shop at the avenues, when I told them I just wanted to look and would let them know when I needed help, they did exactly just that, I ended up finding the perfect dress off the rack that had just been discontinued for a wonderful price and they were so helpful every step of the way. I highly recommend them if you have your own mind and own ideas as to what you want your wedding dress to be and don't want to spend an outrageous amount of money! They are wonderful!

I was here three times for many hours trying on dresses. Each time they were very good and very helpful! They never acted like I was a pain, which I may have been! lol! Finally, I found "the dress" Great place and great value!

I had chosen my bridesmaids gowns at this shop. Although it did take longer than expected, overall the service was good. They don't like to answer the phone. Maybe they need more people working?I LOVE the After Six dresses I ordered!

I'm so glad I discovered this shop. I initially went there for my bridesmaid dresses because the dress designer of the dresses I wanted listed them as vendor on their website. I was greeted by Suzanna when I arrived and she was great; they didn't have the dress I wanted but they ordered them for me. None of the other shops in town offered to do that for me. Suzanna even came in on her day off to help my bridesmaids get measured for their dresses because it was the only day my out of town bridesmaids could come. She was a tremendous help to me when I was trying on wedding dresses. She was always such a pleasure to work with and never pushy! (I'd rate her 10 stars if I could) All of the staff that I encountered was pleasant. It can be a pain to get in touch with them via phone as their line was always busy and if you left a message it would be days/ a week before you would hear back from them. I was also told that the owner would call me on two occasions and she never did. The arrival date for my dress kept being pushed back (designer issue not the stores fault in any way) but it was extremely stressful not hearing back from the owner when I was told she would call; especially when they are telling you your dress isn't arriving until 3 weeks before your wedding. (that's why I rated the responsiveness & professionalism lower) I strongly recommend that you DO NOT use their preferred seamstress Martha Shump. She was extremely unprofessional and left me scrambling to find a seamstress 2 weeks before my wedding.

I ordered the flower girl's dress and one bridesmaids dress from here and had a very disappointing experience. While I really liked one salesperson very much, unfortunately the owner took over at some point which made the experience very unpleasant.Relying on the shop's expertise for sizing, I ordered my out-of-town flower girl's dress based on their recommended size based on the measurements I provided. It turned out the dress was huge on the flower girl where even alterations would not help. After much hassle, the shop agreed to order another dress in the correct size. Repeated calls went unreturned when we were inquiring of a possible date the dress would be in. We had minimal time to spare between the date the dress arrived and our wedding date. It was a lot of undue stress at the last minute that was unnecessary. The bridemaids dress was also too big, but fortunately alterations were able to fix that problem. It was an overall disappointing experience at this bridal shop; I was so grateful I didn't purchase my wedding dress from them.

I ordered my bridesmaids' dresses from this shop and had a so-so experience. The selection of dresses is superb compared to other bridal shops. I was very happy with the dress we ended up using for my girls. However, the dresses were ordered in November and we did not receive them until early March (apparently the dresses are made in China and we had to work around Chinese New Year). Once we received the dresses, three of my bridesmaids' dresses were two sizes too big. They were all out of town girls and the dress sizes were based on the sizing they recommended. The ladies who work in the shop seem like they need extra help because they always seem too busy to help me fully. I was supposed to receive a call as soon as my dresses came in, but I was the one who was constantly calling and asking why my dresses had not shown up yet. I cannot completely recommend this shop based on their lack of customer service.
