This is an amazing place. As soon as we visited, we knew that we absolutely had to have our reception there. Blake is super friendly and lets you call his mobile phone at all hours of the day.You get this awesome venue for the whole weekend and can rent an extra day if you'd like. Two bedrooms, plus a converted attic allowed for six guests to sleep comfortably. I was very happy with that deal, especially since it was ridiculously less expensive than other venues in town. Most vendors in the area know the Sanchez House, which makes planning easier, since they know the capacity and layout of the place. You definitely need to book your wedding reception here.

The first time we visited the Sanchez House we fell in love with the ambience and knew it was where we wanted our reception. The owners were wonderful and allowed us to visit many times after we booked it so our vendors could see the layout. They never made us feel as if we were bothering them with our requests to visit.Additionally, it was a wonderful venue since almost all of our guests travelled from out of town for our St. Augustine wedding; the house provided an amazing "home base" for everyone to hang out for the weekend. We were able to utilize the house everyday we had it. We also hosted a Sunday brunch at the Sanchez House the morning after our wedding and it was a great way for everyone to get together one last time before heading back to their destinations. The Sanchez House captures the very essence of St. Augustine and is a wonderful place to host a wedding or any other event!

We used the Sanchez House last weekend for our wedding and it was the best decision we ever made. Not only do we use the house for the rehearsal dinner on Thursday but we used the place for the ceremony & reception on Friday plus we enjoyed a mini-honeymoon on Saturday and Sunday as well. Definitely worth the investment! Most places in downtown St Augustine had noise ordinances or space issues or they kicked you out afterwards without letting you take your leftovers home. Not the Sanchez House!Blake and Cindy really took care of us. They were available at a moment's notice. I was worried that we had to do the dishes, sweep and do the laundry. They said "no way... you are our guests." That made me breathe better.I would highly recommend the Sanchez House to anyone who lives in St Augustine, Jacksonville or anywhere who wants to enjoy their wedding in a spacious B&B atmosphere.Ed & Katrina11-6-09

We knew the moment that we walked into the Sanchez House that it was where we were going to get married. Our wedding party was small, only 20 people, so we were able to have our ceremony in the beautiful courtyard with the bougainvillea and lush vegetation. So many wedding venues lack the charm of an old house, and couples have to spend a fortune on decorations and flowers. The Sanchez House has such character and history that really gave our wedding that unique quality that everyone desires in making their wedding memorable. We didn't need to add a thing. The convenience of being able to rent the house for the whole weekend helped relieve some of our stress so we could take our time in getting everything prepared. The owners were also very gracious and did what they could to help make everything go smoothly. For an intimate wedding, the Sanchez House is truly the perfect choice.

From the moment we arrived to view the Sanchez House as a possible location for our wedding reception, we instantly had a peace that this was the perfect venue for us. Unique, naturally beautiful, and intimate ? the Sanchez House provided us a venue that our guests are still raving about weeks after the wedding has passed. As a bride, there are so many details to pull together to make a wedding run smoothly. For me, I appreciated that anytime I talked with Blake and Cindy (the owners) or visited the house during planning, the historic charm of the house and the professionalism (and warmth) of the owners always put me at ease. Also, the Sanchez House allowed me to have a wedding of 125 people, and stay on budget. We had a night time wedding and a dessert focused reception (with some hot apps passed). We had our wedding ceremony at 7pm the cathedral in the main town square, and asked our guests to walk to the reception after. The full moon was out, and everyone appreciated the beauty of walking after sitting through the ceremony. We had the majority of our guests stay at the Bayfront Inn next door, and were very pleased with the price, parking and service. There are many B&B?s and hotel options that could work for the guests as well. The only decoration I had to add to the beautiful home was centerpieces for the tables I rented (14 high cocktail tables and 6 big rounds for the grass courtyard by the marina). For centerpieces I used a glass jar with a candle surrounded by coffee beans. Our caterer (Perfect Pear Catering Company) had done previous events at the Sanchez House and were extremely professional and creative with making my vision come together for the reception. We had all the food in the dining room area (with some butler passes apps), and a comment I heard from many guests was that they enjoyed having to get their food and come back to the courtyard, upstairs, or by the marina?they said it was easy to move around, and they always got to mingle with somebody new with each trip!We had a two person acoustic band (Lyons and Baker ? they were awesome!) that filled the courtyard with great music, but still kept it considerate for no complaints from the neighbors. The neighbors were so sweet during the wedding weekend as they helped me and my guests navigate around St. Augustine. Our pictures were incredible with this venue ? Our formals were taken in the alley in front of the beautiful stone wall, we have some great shots on the marina. Our photographer captured the lighting of our evening wedding perfectly, and his was so creative with using the beauty of the house as a backdrop for fantastic wedding pictures! You can visit Scott David Photography at www.scottdavidphotography.com. Scott truly is the best for weddings or any occasion!! We did our introductions, cake cutting and toasts from the balcony, and this seemed to be the guests favorite part. Everyone loved that they could actually SEE what was going on! During the wedding weekend, there is a swing on the balcony which, as Cindy put it best, is the best place in the house. We often found ourselves up there with friends and family talking and taking in the beauty of the marina.Blake and Cindy had plenty of towels, toiletries and paper towels my friends, guests and me to use during the weekend. They also have the kitchen stocked with all the utensils and appliances you would need for a weekend stay. They made everything so easy for us!! Not only are Blake and Cindy great owners of the home and take very good care of the property, you will quickly see that Blake and Cindy are warm and wonderful people, too. The Sanchez House was the cornerstone to our perfect wedding weekend ? thank you!!

We had our intimate July 4th ceremony and reception at this amazing historic home on the St. Augustine waterfront. We were able to stand on the lawn and watch the fireworks from the fort...it was magical! One of the great things about the house is that you can rent the home for the entire weekend, which is great for destination weddings as it provides a central meeting place for family and guests to gather before outings, etc. The home has terrific charm and is beautifully decorated, with a lush backyard and courtyard. You really don't need much in the way of wedding decor to make that place look amazing. It is the perfect size for small weddings, but I wouldn't recommend more than 60-70 people as it could get tight. Plus, the kitchen is pretty small, so doing catering for a bigger group than that would prove pretty challenging. One other huge selling point for me was the noise oridanance at the house--it's 11pm, and there are few other places in the historic district that will allow outdoor live music after 9pm. Lastly, there are two great hotels adjacent to the house (literally right next door on either side)--a B&B on one side and a motel on the other. This was great for our guests as everyone could stay right next to the house to avoid driving around busy St. Augustine and we could walk everywhere the whole weekend as a group. I highly recommend the Sanchez House to any couple looking to have a less traditional intimate wedding in a truly unique setting!

The Sanchez House provided us a non-traditional setting for our intimate, casual, "old florida" style wedding. It was a wonderful home base for the weekend of festivities too. The tropical foliage in the courtyard provided the perfect backdrop for our cocktail reception- as an added bonus- we hardly needed to bring in decorations or flowers, as it was so lush with the blooming flowers and twinkle lights. The best part of the evening was from the back lawn we were able to watch the fireworks the city set off over the fort. It was spectacular. Also the neighborhood and interior of the home gave us a great setting for visually intriguing photos. We hosted 60 people for a sit down ceremony on the back lawn and a heavy hors d'oeuvres dinner. This house is not for someone who wants a very traditional wedding, this house is for the creative and original couple who want to create an "experience" for their guests and have a truly memorable and unique wedding.
