First Coast DJs

Our experience with First Coast DJ's was somewhat dissapointing. They were both very nice, but I believe this is just a second job for the husband and wife team and so I never felt like I was a priority. Their prices were good compared to the other DJs I talked to, but I guess you get what you pay for. I was planning the wedding from another city so I was communicating mostly through email and had to wait several days to get responses back to questions. This was a little annoying, however, something I would maybe be able to understand. Their performance on the night of the wedding was disappointing to us. I had asked them to be set up before 5:30 because of ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all in the same place and I didnt want them to be trudging through the guest with their equipment. They ended up getting lost and not being set up on time. I typed up an order of how I wanted the reception to go and relied on them to keep it moving along to get through everything we needed to. When we realized we only had an hour left, we had to cram everything into that amount of time and didn't get to spend the time we wanted dancing. We even had to skip our anniversary dance which would have gotten the older couples out on the dance floor. We decided not to make a big "do not play" or "must play" list except for the last part of the night when we were supposed to have an "80's Hour". This was the only part where I was very specific about the song choice. I choose a long list of popular songs I would like played but the songs he played were ones I didn't care for. I had to go request him to play a song I had on my list. On a positive note, they weren't cheesy which was something I was worried about and played good music during the beginning part of the evening. You may be happier with them if you are more of a "go with the flow" type of bride & groom and don't have specifc requests and a longer reception time.

I was very pleased with First Coast DJ's. They were very professional and made sure I had everything I requested. They were friendly and personable and I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a DJ.
